How it works:

  • Activate your item’s digital name tag by scanning the QR code tag and entering your contact info.
  • When someone find’s your lost item they can scan your digital name tag to send you a message.
  • You’ll get a message from the item’s finder via email and text with the location of your lost item.

Q: Is my contact information shared with the finder of my lost item?

A: No, your contact information will not be shared with the finder. Instead they will send a message to Brij and Brij will forward it on to you via email and text message.

Q: How does Brij know my item’s location? Does it track my item?

A: No, Brij™ Lost Item Return Technology does not use any electronics and does not actively track your item’s location. The item’s location is determined only when someone finds and scans your lost item. We use the location of the finder’s smartphone and only when they give permission.

Q: What if I don’t activate the Brij™ Lost Item Return Technology?

A: Don’t forget to activate your item! It does not activate automatically. Don’t worry if you forgot to activate it initially - you can choose to activate this technology at any time with the simple scan of the QR code on your smartphone.

Q: Does this technology work internationally?

A: Yes, this feature should work anywhere in the world where smartphone internet access is available. Text messages may not work for international numbers.

Q: Can I customize what the finder sees when they scan my lost item?

A: Yes, you can configure what name (if any) the finder sees when they scan your item from your Brij dashboard after registering the item and creating a Brij account. By default only your first name is shown. You can also add an optional reward for returning your lost item. Brij and Andy & Evan are not responsible for reward payments.

Q: How do I get my lost item back once it is found?

A: Organizing the return of the lost item is between you and the item’s finder. The finder has the option to include their contact info in the message so that you can contact them. Otherwise the finder should give instructions on where the lost item was left such that you can safely pick it up.
